Imagine if you could be king for a day. Ok, let’s back up a minute. What if you were just the most popular person at your company or school. What if you were the most talked about person in your neighborhood or city. Most of us would never know that feeling. Now imagine a car company that has created a car that would surpass just being a vehicle to get you from point A to point B. A legend of sorts. That is the case with the Chevy Corvette.
On June 26, 2008, the U.S. House of Representatives declared June 30 as National Corvette Day. Why June 30 you ask? Well June 30 1953 was the day the first production Corvette rolled off a Flint Michigan assembly line. Why a Corvette? It is the most widely respected produced sports car in United States History and is a symbol of American pride. These are all examples of the lofty praise heaped on the truly iconic Corvette.
It has also been deemed the most talked about car on the internet. According to Motor1, the latest Swoop Digital Brand Exposure Index compiled data from the most far-reaching depths of the internet to see which car and which brand are the most talked about on the internet. The winner of course was the Chevrolet Corvette. The Corvette has a huge following all across the U.S. and with some of their newest offerings, it is easy to see why.

Why Chevys Make the Best Pre-Owned Cars
Chevrolet dealers do a lot of business in pre-owned cars. When you're looking through new and used cars, Chevrolet's value and price point gives you a lot to consider. Whether your top priority is finding the right model to drive your family around or you're most concerned with getting a used car at a great price, Chevrolet dealers have your interests covered.
There are incentives for pre-owned cars
Chevrolet dealers like to see every Chevy have a long life on the road. Shopping for used cars on finance can limit your options at other dealerships. Chevrolet offers deals like 1.9% financing for 36 months on many of their certified pre-owned vehicles. You can even get a limited warranty on many of their cars.
Popular models lead to plenty of options
The Suburban has been a top selling Chevrolet for years. If you have a large family or regularly need a lot of storage space, the Suburban is a superb choice. You can have your pick of make and model at many Chevrolet dealers.
The Camaro is another very popular model. You can choose the year, mileage, and even have some choice over the color.
Both the Suburban and the Camaro are making room for the car that proves Chevrolet innovation is still going strong: the Chevy Volt. These electric/gas cars are growing in popularity and winding up on the pre-owned market while still in fantastic condition. The Volt characterizes the innovation and forward thinking of GM. It's also shaping into a very popular pre-owned car as current owners upgrade to the newer models.
GM certified
The GM certified limited warranties are the best thing in used car shopping. GM spells out exactly what you get with them, and aren't afraid to stand by the cars that they sell. You don't have to buy a new car in order to get protection against wear and tear and faulty parts alike. Any dealership can decide to "certify" their cars. GM's certified pre-owned benefits program attaches value to those claims.
The basic 6-year/100,000-mile limited warranty grants you 24-hour roadside assistance and courtesy transportation. You won't have to shell out for a rental or cabs while your car is in the shop; you'll be able to get where you're going safely. An additional 12-month/12,000-mile warranty covers your car bumper to bumper with $0 deductible. A one-year warranty leaves plenty of time for potential problems to show themselves. There's even more: GM certified pre-owned cars could come with a trial of On Star services, free maintenance oil changes, and more.
Familiarity of parts
Chevrolet has been an auto manufacturer for a long time. Even amazing cars will need maintenance from time to time. Any mechanic with more than a day on the job will be familiar with Chevy's parts and procedures. You won't have to sacrifice a mechanic you trust when switching to Chevrolet from another manufacturer.
Chevrolet dealers showcase the confidence of Chevrolet by offering great deals and impeccable service. Between used vehicle incentives, the GM certified pre-owned benefits program, and the sheer number of choices you have when shopping Chevy it's the clear choice for your next vehicle.

2016 Chevy Malibu, Leading the way
The previous generation was a great family sedan. Styling was clean but conservative. The new version puts on a very sexy makeover with sleek lines. The 2016 Malibu is a wallflower no more and projects great style and a look of elegance. It has moved upscale for sure and now is one of the best looking mid-size sedans, bar none.
On the engineering side Chevy has trimmed a tidy 300 lbs. from the platform while increasing the wheelbase almost 4", mostly to add useful rear seat space as well as smoothing the ride. Under the hood there are two new turbo four-cylinder engine choices. A 1.5 liter with 160 HP that should cover typical driving needs well and a dynamic 2.0 liter version with 250 HP that was fitted to our test car. This motivator proved very energetic driving thru a new 8-speed automatic that shifted crisply and helped the Malibu deliver 22 city/32 hwy MPG per the EPA ratings. Overall refinement was at a high level and you will enjoy the conventional automatic a lot more than any of the competitor's CVT transmissions.
Dropping in to the interior you'll find a refined look that is a clear step up for the class. A well designed, very contemporary dash offers a useful and not intimidating interface based around a central 8" touchscreen that mostly did what was asked of it without confusion. The front seats were comfy enough and the rear now boasts good leg and headroom, very competitive in the category. Out back there's a large and useable trunk with almost 16 cu ft. of cargo room.
Come test drive one at Huffines Chevrolet Plano 1001 Coit Rd Plano, TX or give us a call at 972-867-4000 today!

Upgrading your Vehicle the Right Way
Every 2 ½ year’s families are looking to upgrade one of their vehicles which sits in their driveway. This could be a car or truck that has high mileage or even a minivan that is in need of some repairs. It may be that sports car or jeep that has lost some of its luster, and with the weather turning favorable; a new ride might just make that commute much more enjoyable.
Whatever your reason is to replace your current vehicle, Huffines Chevrolet located at 1001 Coit Rd in Plano, Texas has a great opportunity for you to upgrade your vehicle the right way.
As you review your current vehicle, know that dealerships are looking for high quality, late models, and pre-owned vehicles. Dealerships want to acquire these cars, trucks, or suv’s to help put other drivers not looking for a new vehicle into these models. The vehicle can be any year, make or model with high or low mileage. As long as the vehicle is in good condition; you will have an opportunity to upgrade and experience tremendous savings for you and your family.
Did you know that a five mile per gallon increase will save an average of $50 per month according to FuelEconomy.gov? In addition to the gas savings you could have by upgrading your vehicle; the cost of maintenance and repairs is on average of $70 per month according to AAA. So as you consider trading in your vehicle, calculate your potential monthly savings by adding your monthly payment savings plus the monthly fuel and repair savings to find out what your estimated total monthly savings will be.
This is how the Vehicle Upgrade Month works at Huffines Chevrolet Plano. With no obligation to you spend 15 to 20 minutes talking to one of our vehicle experts. Preview the new vehicle that you desire. The North Texas Dealership will present you with an offer to buy your vehicle and then with an exchange offer. In addition, the dealership will offer to pay today’s service bill if you exchange into the new vehicle.
Therefore the benefits you will receive are as follows:

2014 Chevrolet Spark EV Raises the Bar
General Motors have built their own oil-cooled permanent-magnet electric motor for this spark at a plant in Baltimore. They promise this motor will appear in another product that is in the pipeline and as of yet, unnamed.
One day this could be remembered as the small-block of the electric segment. It has 105 KW (140 horsepower with 400 lb-ft of torque. Once you drive it, there is no doubt this motor has definite muscle. Car and Driver estimates the Spark EV can reach 60 mph in less than 8 seconds. This is 3 seconds faster than the gas model.
There will be a DC fast charge option. This adder can charge the battery to 100% in 20 minutes. With the standard plug it will take 7 to 20 hours depending on whether you are charging it at 240 or 110 volts. The car boasts a range of 82 miles.
The Spark EV has a 21-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The vehicle with the closest comparison is the Honda Fit EV however the Spark EV has enough additional power to shave a second off of Honda’s 0 – 60 time. Normally electric cars are very dull and boring, however the Spark EV is the most intriguing and interesting we have seen.
The Spark EV has been rated at 119 mpg by the EPA in combined driving. The seven inch data screen lets the driver know how many miles he has left as well as the battery capacity. There are three distinct heating and cooling systems to manage the climate for the high voltage electronics, battery and cabin.
This is one will change the game. Come see why today at Huffines Chevrolet Plano 1001 Coit Rd Plano, TX or give us a call at 972-867-4000 today!

The 2014 Equinox at Huffines Chevrolet Plano
The 2014 Chevrolet Equinox is not your average small SUV. It is stylish and practical at the same time, a rare and interesting combination. The Equinox lets you have your cake and eat it too, which is good because what’s the point of having cake and not being able to eat it?
Similarly what is the point of having a vehicle that’s capable enough to handle your family and your cargo that you’re afraid to take anywhere because it kills you at the gas pump? The Equinox’s incredible fuel economy tops out at 32 mpg on the highway in the FWD 2.4L 4-cylinder model. There are compact cars on the market that aren’t able to boast that!

Huffines Chevrolet Plano Car Wash
Huffines Chevrolet Plano was proud to host the students of John Paul II High School who held a fundraising car wash this week. The students of John Paul II High spend much of their free time doing hard work to raise money for their class to be used senior year.
Over 35 students over morning and afternoon shifts come in and go to work washing anyone’s car who pulled in. The goal for freshmen, sophomore, and junior classes is to raise $5,000 each year in order to have $15,000 raised to go towards a variety of events during their senior year.
Every spring the seniors use the funds to go to Our Lady of Perpetual Help and plant flowers and shrubs and do general landscaping for their school. They also donate books to their library and invite the students to come to John Paul II High for a day so the seniors can entertain and educate the elementary students. The funds also support other events such as prom, and are used to purchase a senior gift to the school.
Huffines was happy to host the car wash event, and is pleased to announce the students raised $809 and Huffines made a $300 donation.
The students of John Paul II High were excited to have the car wash at Huffines because it is much more convenient to attract customers than when they had it at their school. Huffines also grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for all of the students and parent volunteers was also a huge hit and we look forward to hosting more events like this in the future for these wonderful students!

Huffines Presents the All-New 2057 Chevy Roadster
Technology moves fast, and so does Chevrolet. That’s why Huffines Chevrolet Plano is proud to introduce the brand new Roadster.
Complete with all the features you’d expect, including a max speed that nears 1,000 mph, Rubicon navigation computer, concussion field generator, and a 2 standard Girodyne SRB42 sublight engines. The Chevy Roadster even has a Hyperdrive Class rating of 0.5 and has the ability to make the Kessel Run in less than 12 Parsecs and is available now, assuming you’re reading this in the year 2057. But in all seriousness, those specs may be inaccurate since they’re actually the exact specifications of the Millenium Falcon.
Speculating about the future of vehicles is fun, my favorite articles in car enthusiasts magazines are always the “Concept Car” articles and Chevy has always been one of the most impressive and forward thinking car makers on the market. Check out the concept vehicle in the works, the Chevrolet EN-V.
The goal of this personal electric vehicle is to be a connected, zero-emissions transportation car that addresses issues of traffic congestion, parking, air quality and affordability. It only weighs 1,100 pounds and is less than 50 inches long and runs on a lithium-ion battery. It is seriously just a few steps, some red paint and laser cannons away from turning you into Iron Man.
However if you cannot wait for the future and want a vehicle that’s way ahead of its time today, Huffines Chevrolet Plano has you covered. Come see the all-star vehicles that also began as concepts and became awe-inspiring reality. Visit our showroom at 1001 Coit Road in Plano, Texas or give us a call at 972-867-4000 today!

The Best Bow Ties in History
The Bow Tie is considered by many to be an underrated piece of fashion and has been the tie of choice for many celebrities and fictional characters. Below is a list of a few of the best bow ties in history, which wasn’t easy to narrow down to just a few considering how many people we had to choose from. People like Charlie Chaplin, Donald Duck, Pee-wee Herman, Fred Astaire, and many others.
At long last, we present the best bow ties in history!
4) Bruce “Bow Tie” Bowen
Bruce Bowen is a retired NBA player, formerly playing for the San Antonio Spurs and now he is “Formally” working as an ESPN analyst, where he can be seen rocking a different bow tie on almost every different TV appearance.
3) The Joker
The larger than life arch-nemesis of Batman has been wearing a bow tie since he first appeared in comics in 1940. Not many people can pull off wearing a bow tie with a purple suit, but The Joker does it wonderfully. He earns a place on the list because his bow tie isn’t just the perfect accessory for the colorful villain, it’s also functional as it sprays out noxious “Joker Toxin” gas whenever he needs it.
2) Bond, James Bond
At long last, we present the best bow ties in history!

James Bond has been the epitome of manliness and suave for over 50 years now, through multiple novels and movies that have starred 6 different actors. (8 if you count the 1954 Television film and the 1967 Spoof of Casino Royale.) Pictured above is Daniel Craig, the latest actor who despite taking up the Bond mantle 50 years after Sean Connery, still rocks the iconic bow tie.
1) Chevrolet
This year marks the 100th year Chevrolet models have been adorned with the iconic bow tie badge. It’s estimated 215 million vehicles have been dressed up with this bow tie, making Chevrolet the best bow tie in history! Much like James Bond, Chevrolet is rugged and tough, with the perfect amount of suave and class.

Consumers Make Chevrolet Most Researched Vehicle Online
Chevrolet continues to dominate the internet with having the most vehicles researched online. The Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Impala, Cobalt, Tahoe, and Malibu hold 33% of the top spots according to NADA Used Car Guides.
It’s no wonder that these vehicles continue to be the “Go to” vehicles that consumers desire as their vehicle of choice.
It’s no wonder that these vehicles continue to be the “Go to” vehicles that consumers desire as their vehicle of choice.
Today's Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is available with a wide variety of body styles, powertrains and trim levels. Thanks to this flexibility, the half-ton Silverado pickup is just as adept at serving as the weekday family car as it is at transporting home-improvement supplies or towing a boat on the weekends. And if one wants something sporty, there are always the SS versions that come complete with a rumbling V8, bucket seats and flashy wheels.
When Chevrolet sent the first Impala off the assembly line in 1958, it was meant to be "a prestige car within the reach of the average American citizen." It would seem that the company was successful; five decades on, the Chevrolet Impala has gone on to become one of America's most well-known nameplates.
Since the new millennium, the modern Impala has served as Chevrolet's main full-size sedan. While "prestige car" isn't really an apt descriptor anymore, the Impala has offered a roomy interior (with available six-passenger seating) and strong and fuel-efficient engines. In our opinion, older, used Impalas from this time period aren't likely going to be the best choice for a large sedan, as they suffer from substandard interior quality and forgettable driving dynamics. But the newest Impala, thanks to its many improvements, is certainly worth considering.
If asked to name an economical, front-wheel-drive, four-cylinder compact car, chances are the average person would come up with an import, probably from Japan. However, the competent Chevrolet Cobalt was an example of America's ability to build a decent compact automobile as well.
However, the Cobalt did offer some variety. It was available as a coupe or sedan and in a variety of trim levels. Chevy also offered a specialized SS model that was, in later years, quite impressive from a performance standpoint.
Few SUVs since the mid-1990s have been as popular as the Chevrolet Tahoe, and it's not hard to see why. With room for up to nine passengers, V8 power and plenty of available amenities, the Tahoe has traditionally been a go-to choice for large American families.
The Chevy Tahoe faced little competition when it debuted, popularizing the full-size SUV by being a somewhat smaller and more maneuverable version of the giant Chevy Suburban that established the segment. Today, however, there are more choices than ever. In particular, large crossovers are more efficient, easier to drive and more versatile inside. The Tahoe remains competitive, though, especially among those who need the added capability of towing.
Since its debut back when the Beatles were singing about holding hands, the Chevrolet Malibu has gone through several iterations. The initial lineup consisted of rear-drive midsizers that included coupes, sedans, wagons and the legendary, high-horsepower SS-badged muscle car. After a downsizing in the late 1970s and a quiet death in the early '80s, the Malibu was reincarnated as a smaller, anonymous, front-wheel-drive favorite of rental fleets.
The latest Chevy Malibu, however, builds upon the good graces established by its strong predecessor and is well deserving of some "Love Me Do." It boasts a level of refinement and overall competence that puts it head and shoulders above its past generations and among the best midsize family sedans. Traits such as a high-end cabin, a composed and quiet ride, handsome styling and advanced electronics features make the latest Chevrolet Malibu a top choice.

The 2014 Malibu at Huffines Chevy Plano
Chevrolet recently unveiled the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu and the improvements made were substantial. Considering the 2013 model of the Malibu was a complete re-design, it is unusual for so many changes to be made only the next model year, but the best brand in America is insistent on taking a great idea and making it even better.
“The 2014 Chevrolet Malibu builds on the strengths established by the all-new 2013 Malibu to make it a stronger choice for customers,” said Mark Reuss, president, General Motors North America. “The midsize sedan segment is the most contested in the industry and we’re not sitting still with the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu.”
The 2014 Malibu includes a new revised front end appearance and a redesigned center console. The most noticeable differences however, are that the rear seat is much roomier. With an added 1.25 inches of knee room the Malibu goes from comfortable to amazingly comfortable.
The engine also saw changes, a new available 2.5L engine with variable valve lift control and start/stop technology raises the already impressive fuel economy to 23 mpg in the city and an amazing 35 mpg on the highway. The start/stop technology shuts the engine down to save fuel when the Malibu stops momentarily such as at redlights, and starts up again when the driver removes their foot from the brake.
The suspension has also changed, inspired by the 2014 Impala, the Malibu now has a more refined driving experience and a smoother overall ride. And the safety features have also improved even though Malibu received a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score from the national Highway Traffic Safety Administration and a 2013 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. New Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert features are now offered making the top rated Malibu, even safer.
If you want a closer look at the best sedan on the market there’s no place better than Huffines Chevrolet Plano where the 2014 Malibu will be hitting the showroom floor soon! Visit us at 1001 Coit Road in Plano, Texas or call (972) 867-4000 today!

Country Song Showdown: Ford VS Chevy
In its 100 years, Chevrolet has produced some of the most iconic vehicles from the era defining Bel Air to the timeless Corvette. Jay Z, Kid Rock, and Mariah Carey are just a few of the artists to name-drop Chevrolet in hit songs, but no genre has embraced the breadth and depth of Chevrolet’s pop culture standing like country music.
Still, there are plenty of people who debate this fact. While some people insist that country songs mention Chevy’s more, others maintain that Ford is the premier name dropped into our favorite songs. There may be a handful of people who insist country singers croon about Dodge more often, but let’s be honest they’re just kidding themselves.
We here at Huffines Chevrolet Plano have decided to do a little investigative journalism and determine which vehicle is the “King of Country.” In the red corner, we have Chevrolet and staring right into the grille of the contender in the blue corner, Ford.
It’s Ford VS Chevy for the coveted “King of Country” Championship Belt Round 1 (First to Ten Points Wins)
“Baby got a ’69 Mustang, four on the floor, and you ought to hear the pipes ring.” Ford comes out and delivers a big haymaker in the form of Toby Keith’s “Whiskey Girl,” which tallies up one big point for Ford, but Chevy counters back with a song that’s still relevant, “In this brand new Chevy with a lift kit,” it’s Cruise by Florida Georgia Line, tying the score one to one.
Chevy doesn’t let up, it’s a one-two combo, “Well I'm just ready to ride this Chevy, ride this Chevy, down a little back road.” Jason Aldean’s “Take A Little Ride” puts Chevy up 2-1.
Ford rallies back with “Let’s Get Dirty” by Heartland, “Tail on the Tailgate” by Neal McCoy, “Daddy Let Me Drive” by Alan Jackson and “Beat up, Old Ford,” by Jack Ingram. It’s a Ford Flurry scoring 4 more points for Ford.
Chevy won’t be outdone, as it almost blocks the last punch, and fires back a plethora of pop culture punches in the form of “It’s America” by Rodney Atkins, “Tim McGraw” by Taylor Swift, “Put a Girl In It” and “Chevrolet” by Luke Bryan.
“Went out and hopped in my old Ford, Hit the engine but she ain’t turnin,” and it’s the Kenny Chesney cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “One Step Up.” An odd choice considering the song highlights the unreliability of Ford engines. Ford couples this with Alan Jackson’s “Mercury Blues” another questionable choice since Mercury is technically made by Ford, and discontinued. This two punch combo scores Ford two controversial points.
Chevrolet can sense that Ford is getting light on its feet and comes charging in looking to end this now. Chevy leads with “West Texas Highway” by Lyle Lovett, and follows the strong right hander with a left in the form of “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy” by Big & Rich, but it’s not stopping there. “One Bud Wiser” by Gretchen Wilson and Ford is hurting. It’s looking like a strong wind could knock him over. It’s not a wind, it’s “No, we’re not the Jet Set, we’re the old Chevrolet set.” A Chevrolet reference from legendary country singers, George Jones and Tammy Wynette. And Ford is down for the count!
Well, our research so far has shown that Chevy is the “King of Country,” but we want to know what you think! Vote on our poll on the sidebar here and let us know who you think is the winner.
And if you want to get the best deal on the car or truck your favorite singers can’t stop singing about, visit Huffines Chevrolet Plano located at 1001 Coit Rd or give us a call at 972 867 4000 today!
