Star Local Media’s Readers’ Choice Awards are Underway

Star Local Media is a media company comprising of 14 community newspapers and websites serving suburban North Texas including the Allen American, Lewisville Leader, Plano Star-Courier, and The Colony-Courier, among several others. 

Every year Star Local has an annual readers’ choice awards which allows readers to nominate and then afterwards vote for their favorite businesses to be honored in a special congratulatory section in January papers.

The awards are organized by publication so that each community has the opportunity to recognize outstanding businesses in their area.  Three to five nominated businesses in each category will be included on the final multiple choice ballot, which will be run through December.

Dallas Morning News Names Huffines one of the Top 100 Places to Work

The Dallas Morning News recently released the list of the “Top 100 Places to Work” in the DFW Metroplex for 2013, and for the third straight year, Huffines makes it onto the coveted list, and ranking inside of the “Sweet Sixteen.”

In 1924, Mr. J.L. Huffines Sr. founded the Huffines Motor Company in Denton, Texas based around two principles: “Treat the customer the way they want to be treated,” and “Support the local community.”  His philosophy has been followed every day since and the 800+ member team of the 8 area Huffines Dealerships believes what Mr. Huffines believed.  When you help someone purchase or service a vehicle, you are making a friend.  Perhaps that is one reason why the employees at Huffines enjoy what they do so much.
